I tried asking the ArcSoft support about this, but that was 2 days ago and I have yet to get an answer, so I'll try this forum.
I have a problem recording games on my Xbox 360 with my Hauppauge HD PVR/Total Media Extreme. When I first used TME it prompted me to update it and the HD PVR. I updated the HD PVR to driver version 18.104.22.168 and I found out TME was updated to 22.214.171.124. I'm using Windows Vista btw.
Now my problem is this. I can only record when I'm on the Xbox dashboard, but as soon as I start up a game the preview screen in TME goes black and a red light pops up beside the blue light on the front of the HD PVR. Both the blue and red lights on the front and the blue light on top of the box keeps glowing even after I stop the recording. If I refresh in TME the message 'The device is not available, or bla bla...' pops up and TME becomes unresponsive. If I want the message to stop popping up and the lights on the HD PVR to stop glowing, I have to close down TME and shut down both the HD PVR and my Xbox 360 and start everything up again. After that TME becomes responsive again.
I can also only record in M2TS and TS (and this is still only on the dashboard). If I record in MP4, the resulting video just shows a grey screen with the audio. Could this have something to do with the fact that I installed K-Lite Codec Pack Full?
I have a European Pal 60 Xbox 360, but TME won't let me select Pal 60 in the options, it always reverts to NTSC_M, if I remember correctly. If I choose any of the other Pal options, it reverts to Pal_B. And if I choose any of the NTSC options, it reverts to NTSC_M. Why is that?
Can someone please help me, otherwise I have wasted alot of money.
